We’re proud to look back on the night Foresight Business Solutions was named winner of the Supporting Young People Award at the 2022 Oldham Business Awards.
The awards returned to Oldham’s Queen Elizabeth Hall in October 2022 after a three-year, pandemic-enforced absence, bringing the borough’s business community together to celebrate local success. Across eleven categories on the night, Foresight took home the Supporting Young People Award, shortlisted alongside Skills 4 All and Barlows UK.
Why this one means so much
Of all the recognition a business can receive, being recognised for supporting young people is one we’re especially proud of. Helping the next generation into rewarding careers in IT and technology — through opportunities, mentoring and real hands-on experience — has always been part of who we are.
The evening also raised funds for two Oldham charities close to the local business community, Dr Kershaw’s Hospice and Mahdlo Youth Zone.

Investing in the next generation
The technology sector has a well-known skills gap, and we have always believed the answer starts locally. Over the years that has meant offering apprenticeships, work experience and hands-on mentoring to young people in Oldham and across Greater Manchester — giving those starting out a genuine route into rewarding careers in IT and cyber security, not just an inbox to watch. For a business built in this community, helping the next generation into good jobs is not a side project; it is part of how we think a local company should behave.
Part of who we are since 2006
Being recognised for that work, alongside strong local organisations, meant a great deal to the whole team. So did the evening’s support for two Oldham causes close to the business community — Dr Kershaw’s Hospice and Mahdlo Youth Zone. We remain proud of our Oldham roots and committed to putting something back, whether through the young people we help train or the local organisations we support. Recognition like this belongs to everyone who has been part of Foresight’s journey.
