Fortigate Next-Gen Firewall Implementation

Chances Mentoring AP is a Greater Manchester organisation providing mentoring and alternative provision for young people. They handle sensitive safeguarding data and personal information for vulnerable individuals, requiring both robust data protection and DfE-compliant internet filtering.

Their existing perimeter firewall was a consumer-grade device incapable of application control, web content filtering or deep packet inspection. With safeguarding obligations and GDPR requirements to meet, and a growing number of connected devices, a proper enterprise-grade solution was needed.

Foresight deployed a Fortigate Next-Generation Firewall configured with application control, safeguarding-compliant web content filtering, intrusion prevention, and SSL inspection. Separate network zones were created for staff and client devices. Centralised reporting gives management visibility of internet usage and security events.
